The Law Offices of Thomas Stahl is a boutique family law and estate planning firm based in Columbia, MD. We're seeking an associate attorney to join our collaborative, fast-paced practice and help deliver high-quality representation to our clients. 

About the Role

We're looking for a candidate with litigation experience, ideally in family law. Experience in estate planning, probate, or estate litigation is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload spanning family law, estate planning, probate, and estate litigation
• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, financial statements, and other legal documents
• Take depositions and affidavits of clients and witnesses
• Conduct and analyze legal research
• Manage shifting timelines and competing priorities across multiple active cases
• Set and manage client expectations throughout the representation
• Support other case types as needed

Qualifications

• Admission to the Maryland Bar required; DC Bar admission a plus
• Minimum 1 year of litigation experience, preferably in family law
• Experience with estate planning, probate, or estate litigation a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience with case management software, Clio preferred
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
